Wonderful location in a 11th century castle! The host was super nice and hospitable and we got a free tour of the castle. Staying in such a location with such nice English people/hosts is a privilege. Continental breakfast was included and included fresh blueberries and strawberries, other fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast, jam, honey, etc. On request we had toast with scrambled eggs and a full English breakfast, even gluten-free sausages and toast! The host also came to us during breakfast to make sure everything was fine and took the time to have a personal conversation. Location is very quiet and at night we heard an owl. The castle is located outside, but within walking distance of a very charming, picturesque English village, where there are nice places to have dinner and also charming shops and places to have a coffee. All in all, we certainly want to come back!

Wonderful setting, great rooms and service. Staff are attentive and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.

Amazing hotel, and brilliant staff, they went above and beyond to accommodate myself on my 10yr anniversary with a free upgrade. The hotel is close to the city center, clean and tidy, polite and friendly staff and lovely extra little touches. The most comfortable bed, and black out blinds. Will definitely be staying again.

This really was a fab experience- too brief as was just 1 night. Arrived late and was greeted so personably. Room was so comfy the bed just seemed to envelope me. Fab breakfast and staff so attentive. Very clean loved the bath sheets ..

Had a van brakedown on way to holyhead from Cornwall, was stuck in Exeter for 2 days. 1st dat at a motorway travel lodge , 2nd night we made it to Exeter and stayed at the University, what a delight and beautiful evening we had. The accommodation is itself basic but definitely adequate , breakfast was 10 out of 10 and the University is stunning large grounds and had amazing facilities, world class sports hall , state of the art gym , and the city is beautiful, I would definitely stay again.
