Denne ryokan åbnede i april 2014 efter en grundig renovering og tilbyder rummelige værelser omgivet af rolige bjerge. This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed at during our trip. Set right against the mountain, surrounded by lush green trees and a river running right below us…it was spectacular to see. The onsens were lovely and we used the private onsen right beside the main building.

Solest Takachiho Hotel ligger i Takachiho, 9 minutters gang fra Takachiho Shrine og 1,9 km fra Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium. Very central location, near Takachiho shrine, modern, clean, helpful staff and very good breakfast. They also leant us cushions for the Kagura dance performance.

Less than a minute's walk from the West exit of JR Miyazaki Train Station and the expressway bus station (Miyazaki Station), JR Kyushu Hotel offers western-style rooms and a 24-hour front desk. Staffs were friendly and helpful. I wanted to communicate in my broken Japanese and they were very patient with me (though, they could speak English just fine). The room size is reasonable. Everything appears clean. LOVE the Japanese bathroom where you can actually sit down and shower. The hotel is located next to Miyazaki station. If you drive, the hotel’s parking lot is behind the building and cost ¥1000 to park 24 hours (12PM - 12PM). If you need a quick run to your room or to check-in, the parking in front of the hotel is free for 20 minutes.

Guest House Iwato ligger i Takachiho, 5 minutters gang fra Amanoiwato Shrine, og har gratis wi-fi samt gratis privat parkering. Pensionatet ligger ca. We stayed in Takachiho after a morning in Mt Aso. The property is easy to find and the host was fabulous in providing information prior to our arrival. The self contained unit was very clean and having some space after some small hotel rooms was lovely! The shower was great with plenty of hot water. There is parking close by. The beds are futons and as there were only 2 of us in a 4 bed accommodation, I was able to layer 2 futons for some extra comfort! Just be mindful if you’re tall as the door frames are low. If you’re taller than about 5’10”, you might need to duck!

Miyakonojo Green Hotel ligger i Miyakonojō, 27 km fra Kirishima Jingu Shrine og 40 km fra Daguri Cape. Dette hotel med 3 stjerner har gratis wi-fi, et fælles opholdsområde og en døgnåben reception. It was very close to the train station (around a 5 minutes walk). The room itself was very clean and modern. I enjoyed the public bath and laundry services as well. Staff was very friendly and I could communicate in English as well.

Yurakuan Miyazaki ligger i Miyazaki, 7,6 km fra Oyodo River Study Center og 11 km fra Miyazaki Phoenix Zoo. The hotel is located next to the Oyodo river which is great for running og walking along. We were welcomed by the friendly staff which made us very welcome. They had a number of written information sheets in English about the hotel and facilities which was great as our Japanese is limited and so was their English. The room was with tatami flooring and futon mattresses. The bathroom was a totally covered outdoor space which although in winter was great. It was chilly to start with but quickly warmed up when you either started the shower or began to fill the bath. The last being a wonderful wooden bath. There was free parking right by the hotel. Although the room was with no meal plan they provided toast and butter/jam for breakfast free of charge together with the complimentary coffee/tea. I would definitely stay at Yurakuan Miyazaki if I came back to town.
