Lovely old hotel that has been renovated beautifully, we really enjoyed our stay here the bed was really comfy and the luxury to have a bath to relax, handy parking directly outside and a shop just across the car park!! The breakfast was amazing and a great selection

"The best nap ever." - Joey Tribbian. And it really was! I hated to leave, but I had to. I wanted to stay there and be bitten by vampire and become Carmilla or Eleanore from Castlevania. The city really gives you Castlevania vibe, even though they are in Styria not Slesia, but it was one domain long, long time ago in fictional realms. The hosts - blessings to you, my dear. If it wasn't for 758 kilometers one way only from my residing town , I would return there next summer and stayed there. Marvellous hotel, impeccable, very literate, every detail is taken care of. Ah, bonus is, I felt like Johnathan Harker before leaving to Transylvania! Extra fiction play in my mind! 😃

An ideal location for two families or a gathering with friends! The house is spacious, and the large garden, along with the covered outdoor seating area, is perfect. All essential amenities, such as a bakery, supermarket, train station, organic shop, and pharmacy, are within walking distance. Communication with the owner is straightforward. Staying at Penzion Hrad in Frydek-Mistek was like stepping into a fairytale, as we found ourselves immersed in the charm of a traditional Czech castle. The architecture and decor transported us back in time, while still providing all the modern comforts we could need. Each room felt like an enchanting blend of history and coziness, with beautiful touches that celebrated Czech heritage. The staff’s warmth and hospitality were unmatched, making us feel like cherished guests in this historic castle. They took the time to offer personal recommendations, directing us to nearby attractions and sharing stories that deepened our appreciation for the area. The food in the restaurant was incredible, cooked on a wood fired open grill, incredibly unique. Penzion Hrad combines the magic of staying in a real Czech castle with the thoughtful touches and impeccable service of a modern hotel. From the enchanting stone walls to the scenic views of Frydek-Mistek, every detail added to an unforgettable experience. We left with a sense of wonder, deeply grateful for the chance to connect with Czech history in such a memorable way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay that’s both inspiring and unique!

    Stayed here kind of by accident since all good-value accommodation in Ostrava was booked out that weekend. Friendly accommodation in a family home. Didn't see much of my hosts, but they seemed nice when I met them. Large, spacious room. An easy fifteen-minute walk to the railway station; close to the old part of Frydek town. Though I didn't use the kitchen except to make a cup of tea, it seemed to have good facilities.

    The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, penzion is very fresh and clean, they look after it very well. I had a very quiet room, so I had a good rest. And the breakfast is very well too. I enjoyed my stay there
