It’s hard to say one thing, so I will say two: 1) the beautiful landscape and terraces (including our private one) that allowed us to disconnect and relax, and 2) how kind and accommodating our host Maria was! She makes you feel super welcomed and serves a delicious breakfast buffet every morning. She has 12 donkeys, 2 mini ponies, etc. on her property, and she gave us bread to feed them which was really fun. You would be surprised how relaxing it is to have tea on your terrace surrounded by green grounds, trees, and donkeys off in the distance grazing. This is really a gem off the beaten path! The train is within walking distance so we easily spent the day discovering San Sebastián to then happily return home to a chill, restful environment.

It is in a very quiet location, just the birds and the cow bells. It had been a long trip from Portugal getting there, so we stayed two nights to recover. Breakfast was freshly served and we could sit inside or out under their veranda. The restaurants are mainly in Zarautz about 15minutes away. They typically open late in the evening, after 8pm. The first night we found a tapas type bar, which was Ok The second night we went on the owners recommendation to Telesforo, restaurant which she booked for us, and it was superb.

It is very very quiet, breakfast very good. Good views over hills from window/balcony. Parking good, freqent (every 30 minutes), cheap bus service to the centre of Donostia San Sebastian less than 200 yards from hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Wow, it's a stunning hotel, beautifully and tastefully decorated and everything perfect and more than you expect. Thanks for the complimentary snacks and drinks. The hotel looks like a little swiss chalet on the mountainside. We loved the attention to detail and the flowers everywhere. It was close to the highway so it was easy to continue our journey but not too close to anything so we stayed in the hotel and enjoyed the facilities there. It was also close to the Caminho Santiago route. Nothing was too much trouble and our dogs were welcome. The breakfast was outstanding and well presented. The best we experienced in our 3 week vacation - with a delicious fruit salad and scrambled egg and bacon included as well as more. Lots of parking available Thank you guys for a memorable stay and we would highly recommend this as a perfect stop off.

The welcome was great, the staff were really pleasant. We got a lovely room with a sea and mountain view. It was our wedding anniversary and there was a nice bottle of cava in the room. They were very thoughtful. Breakfast was good and the Thalassotherapy spa was very relaxing. We used the spa every day. The location was great as it had a beach, walks, several restaurants and some nice bars in the immediate location. Plus it was a 20 minute drive into the centre of San Sebastian from there.

    We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way down to Portugal. The house is absolutely stunning with amazing views and a very relaxing feel. Breakfast was fantastic so fresh and plenty of it. The owner was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again as a stopover. We drove to Antilla, 5 minutes away, plenty of little bars and restaurants to grab something to eat.

    This Surf House is the first hostel I have stayed at. I only had the best of times. From surf equipment to the staff etiquette this is a rare find when comes to hostels. Cannot recommend enough.

    I absolutely loved my stay here. Such incredible vibes, stunning views of the countryside and the nicest people. Instantly felt at home and part of the family. All the staff were so friendly and helpful I wish I could have stayed longer but I will definitely be back.

    High quality accommodation throughout. Garage was available for bike storage.. Train station for Donostia-San Sebastion.within 10 minute walk. Note that access is not off the N634. Entrance is off the GI 3161.
