Exceptional B&B in a great location with parking run by very friendly staff. Clean, well equipped room and a lovely, piping hot breakfast in the morning. Always our first choice for accommodation when looking to stay in Bowness.

We stayed in one of the new outside cabins with hot tub. This is the 5th stay over the years and not much has changed other than some new accommodation blocks. The new cabins are lovely, over looking farm fields and we saw lots of wildlife including a barn owl. The food is excellent and well priced. Really good choice and seasonal ingredients. Don't expect a plush 4* hotel. Damson Dene is not so refined but an excellent base in the Lake District far enough away from the hustle and bustle.

Location was excellent for Bowness and only a short walk to Windermere. A number of great restaurants within 5 mins walk. Parking was good, the apartment was excellent throughout, and the passcode entry was great, much better than carrying keys around. This is by far the best accommodation we’ve stayed in at Bowness which is our favourite location in the lakes, already looking to rebook this apartment.

Great location and fantastic views - we stayed there only to break our journey to Scotland but we enjoyed it so much that we almost wanted to stay there for the rest of the holiday. We have been to the lakes many times and always enjoyed our times there, but this time was exceptional. You can book a private boat trip from the hotel so you don’t really need to leave the hotel to enjoy the entire Windermere experience.

Everything about this stay was perfect for our family. The accommodation was in a fantastic location in the town, with parking included. The host was extraordinarily helpful and kind, and the home had so many beautiful details in every room that truly made our stay. We all really looked forward to coming back to the house in the evening, a testament to the cosy, spacious nature of the space. Overall, this house was the perfect base for our trip and we could not recommend it more highly!

Oakfold House is an exceptional place to stay in the lovely location of Bowness-on-Windemere Lovely location for the lake, local bars & restaurants, for the ferry to Ambleside or buses to explore more of the Lake District The accommodation itself is superb with Robyn & Chris being terrific hosts Tried lots from the breakfast menu & it was always excellent, very generous too which sets you up nicely for any long walks! Ample parking, nice gardens & very welcoming feel, will definitely book again

Excellent accommodation situated close to the centre. We stayed in room 3. The room had a lovely view of the gardens & had everything you needed. Nice little touches having a mini fridge on the landing with complimentary water & bottled milk, also the homemade cake everyday was delicious ☺️

This was by far the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in, I wish we had stayed longer. The place itself is in a fantastic location just up the hill from the lake and all the shops and with free parking that in itself makes it a great place to stay. However, the host and property are so fantastic it would not have mattered if it was in the middle of nowhere. I cannot wait to visit again.

A beautiful clean warm and well equipped property. Presentation was excellent everything you could possibly need was supplied for your stay . Close to town centre restaurants bars pubs and attractions on on the doorstep. Although described as an apartment it was more of a house over two floors . The hosts had left a folder with a wealth of information about the accommodations and the surrounding area . A real home from home stay .
