Divyamshu and Aishwary both went up and beyond to make sure that we are comfortable. Being our first time in Banaras, they picked us up from a location so that we don't get lost in the little lanes of Banaras. They gave us right suggestions and were always available for any small queries. They treated us like family. Rooms were clean and comfortable. location is amazing and just few minutes walk to the ghat and ganga aarti. Would definitely recommend this place and will myself stay here for future trips to Banaras.

I'm Australian and visited during the low season and had the most incredible stay — it honestly felt like this family had a magic wand hidden somewhere. Every little problem I brought with me, they solved with such kindness and ease. From helping me get tailored clothes made, to fixing the screen on my phone, to preparing the most delicious meals, to even arranging a local traveler to accompany me to the ghats — they thought of everything. Mohit’s wife cooks the most amazing food, with a huge variety of delicious home-style Indian dishes. I probably ate 70% of my meals here, and every bite was a treat! As a solo woman traveler, I felt completely safe and cared for. When I ran into trouble with a bad Uber driver, they stepped in right away and sorted it out without hesitation. Whatever was on my to-do list, they somehow made it happen. Their home is full of warmth, laughter, and the sweetest little girls you’ll instantly fall in love with. Mohit’s mother also carries such wisdom and clarity in her words that, even when she spoke in Hindi, I found myself understanding. They’re wonderfully creative too — they hand painted uplifting murals to brighten the walls, from a cute panda to a serene Buddha, and they’ve even made cozy seats out of recycled tyre wheels. In the evenings, the open terrace is the perfect place to sit, while doves that have been nesting there for over five years coo gently in the background. The family also runs a small shop, so snacks and drinks are always within easy reach. Compared to the bustle of the city, this place is peaceful and quiet, yet still just a short walk from the Buddhist temples in Sarnath. The rooms are comfortable, with options to suit everyone — from dorms to single rooms and larger family spaces. Truly, this is the BEST place I have ever stayed. If you’re looking for safety, comfort, care, and unforgettable hospitality, look no further — you’ll find it here.

The 7 Traders Hostel was our salvation! After we arrived early in the morning on the night bus from Agra, our previously booked hotel room was unfortunately canceled. The 7 Traders Hostel confirmed our booking immediately and we were able to check into our room much earlier. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We booked a second night on the spot. The room is clean and very central. We were able to visit all the attractions on foot and to escape the heat, we always stopped off at our hostel. The price-performance ratio is really great. We are happy to recommend it to others and will be back on our next trip to India!

For us Ashirvad Homestay was a welcoming and quiet refuge in an otherwise chaotic city. The location, a bit removed from the clutter near the river, is in an almost rural setting across the road from a park. Aman, the manager, was exceptionally helpful, changing money, arranging an airport transfer, setting up aboat trip and on Day One, negotiating a tuk-tuk for us. Trust me, if you do any of these activities, let Aman set them up for you.

Amit, the Host, its such a friendly and polite guy, he has helped us with everything, before and during our stay!!! Excellent location (5 min walk or less from Assi Ghat), large and comfortable bed, everything clean, pleasant rooftop breakfast experience, very helpful staff -- the hotel manager in particular, Saurabh, was extremely warm and welcoming. He helped me arrange taxis, know the local events, etc, and was very understanding when I arrived super-late / when my plans changed. I would stay here again next time, definitely.

Great place to stay in Varanasi-would 100% recommend. Although it is not riverside by the ghats, it was actually really nice to be away from that craziness (also, tuk-tuks and cars can’t actually go a far as the riverside anyway because of road blocks). It takes around 15 minutes on a tuk-tuk to get close tot he river and then you have to walk about 10 mins to get to the actual riverside (due to the roadblocks) and the staff were super great at negotiating the price and getting the tuk-tuks for us which we really appreciated. The staff were also just generally really friendly and helpful-when we arrived they gave us information on the ghats and restaurants to try as well. The hotel room itself was really nice with a super comfy bed and just a really nice place to relax. The room service was also great and a reasonable price. Overall a great place to stay, we would stay here again and would recommend it. Also, there is a great chain stand right outside the hotel.

Great location, basic but comfortable room and awesome host (Vishnu). Vishnu's place is good value for money in Varanasi, but Vishnu as a host is invaluable. He is friendly, provides a lot of good information and advice - he really knows the area well and I would recommend other guests to pay attention to his advice because everything he told us (about scams, traffic etc) came true. We would have missed our train because of traffic and road blockages if Vishnu had not warned us about needing to leave early.
