The host is the local artist who produces faces on rocks which you can see everywhere in Husafell. It was a great stay with a delicious breakfast (especially the traditional Havragrautur). He creates the experience with his generous catering and bringing fellow travellers together: 10 of us of different nationalities getting along so well together and Saemi giving us insights into life in Iceland. The host Seymour was so service minded and welcoming. He made us a lovely dinner and breakfast with local specialities. The view was fantastic and the trail close by. It is quintessential Iceland which is why so many artists have stayed there over the years. The main attraction is the heartfelt welcome from the host. His open table, hearty soup and fantastic waffles. The views from the hot tub are sensational. Accommodation is basic, comfortable and extremely clean. This isn’ a 5* hotel. The owner made us dinner and a classic icelandic breakfast which was incredible.
