The place was fantastic, right next to the river and temple, really conveniently located in the town centre. The food was extraordinary, so many incredible, tasty, healthy dishes that came one after the other during the dinner in the private room overlooking the river. They welcomed us with the traditional tea, matcha latte and some sweets. For dinner and breakfast they served traditional dishes (a lot of different foods) and we were super happy to try them. The thing that stands out about iori is the staff. I especially have to commend Jackson, a tall handsome american who helped my family and i every step of the way during our trip. Shingo welcomed me then with such kindness. Probably that time influenced me to visit once again to Hida, also same property. It’s a small town obviously, however that town and its atmosphere suggest tourists to visit again in other seasons. We loved how friendly and hospitable the staff were. We especially loved the onsen and the massage room. We used both the private onsen and the public onsen.
