My stay at Jodogahama Park Hotel was absolutely wonderful. Located near the beautiful Jodogahama Beach, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Sanriku coastline and a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxing. The private in-room bath with an ocean view was a true highlight. Soaking in the warm water while watching the waves and coastline was incredibly calming — a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully designed with traditional Japanese touches. I really appreciated the quiet and serene environment. Dinner was served buffet-style and exceeded my expectations. There was a wide variety of dishes, including fresh local seafood, regional specialties, and both Japanese and Western options — all delicious and well-prepared. Breakfast was equally satisfying, with plenty of choices to suit any taste. The staff were kind, attentive, and made every effort to ensure a comfortable stay. Their hospitality added so much to the experience. Overall, Jodogahama Park Hotel combines stunning views, great food, and relaxing accommodations. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice accommodation just a bit outside of Miyako. If you travel by car, it's a good option to stay and explore the coastline of Iwate. All amenities you need, good breakfast, friendly staff.

Was at the guesthouse when Typhoon #5 hit. The owner (sorry, forgot the name!) constantly updated us on the situation. He helped me to cancel my next hostel bc it wasn't possible to travel with everything shut down. Although plans were disrupted, I had an amazing time in Miyako with the other guests staying there. Highly recommended, as it's only 5 min walk to the train/bus stops, with a 7-11 nearby as well. Miyako has a really vibrant nightlife (wouldn't know if not for the typhoon and the fellow guests who showed us around!) .. will be back!
