A special Hotel in a very special place, one of our best stays ever. Prior to our arrival I had arranged with the hotel to be picked up from the station. As promised a taxi arrived and drove ourselves and a couple of other guests the 15 minutes or so to the hotel. Staff were waiting outside to greet us and show us to reception where checkin was effortless as desk clerk spoke good English. Unusually we weren’t expected to pay or leave a credit card on file, payment is when you leave. We had booked a suite with sea views primarily because we needed western beds and chairs as we feel that sadly, the days of sleeping on the floor are behind us. In fact the rooms are described as The Royal Suite and it lives up to its name. There are three large rooms elegantly furnished. The double aspect room with large windows allowed us to appreciate the spectacular views of the bay, An absolute delight was the wet room with its shower and bathing pool, big enough for two, which afforded a view of the bay. Needless to say everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the wifi worked well, but the star of the room was certainly the view and the strange sense of peace and spirituality, which we both felt. Dinner too was a highlight partly cooked on jot plates at the table it was a feast of food from the sea. We ordered a bottle of white wine to go with the meal. It was Japanese and was, well….. interesting and not unpleasant. The bed was large and comfortable and the view at night with a full moon sparkling on the sea was amazing. The weather was cold with snow on the ground so we did not venture down to the beach. Breakfast was again most enjoyable and all too soon it was time to check out and take the shuttle bus to the station. Our stay was not cheap, but to put it in context much less than an average room in a Tokyo hotel, but considering the space, the excellent food, the service and above all the sense of peace was well worth it. A very special place to stay.

Was at the guesthouse when Typhoon #5 hit. The owner (sorry, forgot the name!) constantly updated us on the situation. He helped me to cancel my next hostel bc it wasn't possible to travel with everything shut down. Although plans were disrupted, I had an amazing time in Miyako with the other guests staying there. Highly recommended, as it's only 5 min walk to the train/bus stops, with a 7-11 nearby as well. Miyako has a really vibrant nightlife (wouldn't know if not for the typhoon and the fellow guests who showed us around!) .. will be back!

The hotel is very nice; it seems to be one of the largest in Miyako and is quite central and close to the train station. Not everyone among the staff speaks English but they are very patient and there's always a way to communicate via translation apps etc.

Very nice and quiet stay with a large room (perhaps a bit old). We were first disappointed that the dinner was in a buffet mode but it turned to be a very good one with specialties and quality.

This beautiful hotel excels in every way. In an extraordinarily beautiful location, it is a delight from the moment you step inside. Professional and friendly staff were always on hand to assist us. The rooms are beautiful and perfectly planned for maximum comfort and great thought in providing views from every corner! Possibly the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in… Thank you to all staff and we look forward to returning later in the year.

Nice accommodation just a bit outside of Miyako. If you travel by car, it's a good option to stay and explore the coastline of Iwate. All amenities you need, good breakfast, friendly staff.

The only reason to stay here is for the incredible view from the room. Other parts of the hotel are pretty ordinary. Appreciated the shuttle back and forth from Miyako Station, because that area is pretty tough to access if you are not driving.

Excellent seaside view and walking distance to its beach with awesome scenery along the wall. it’s spot worth spending more than one day or night there to explore the hiking trail. Dinner and breakfast is served in Buffet style , many choices of food both Western and Japanese style. there are lots more to praise this hotel and I will recommend it to those who are looking for accommodation in that area.
