It was so peaceful, the air and water were very refreshing and clean. The traditional Japanese style room and breakfast was a great experience but above all, the hosts were the best. They were super friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We travelled with a baby and they helped us in many ways that I am so grateful for! We felt so at home, even though if we communicated via the Google Translator (this is totally viable)! The room is very cozy and has a magnificent view on the Tama River down below. We definitely recommend to take the breakfast option: it is a traditional Japanese breakfast prepared by the hosts, it was very delicious. They have two cute cats, which visit while you eat. The room was spacious and comfortable for our family of four. The food was absolutely delicious. It was a perfect base for hiking around Mount Mitake and there is a hot bath with an amazing view to finish off the day. It's less of a tourist area, so it was not crowded at all. The Ryokan itself was an authentic Japanese style hotel. It was a great experience staying there. The food was very delicious and plenty. The owner and stuff were amazing-- from beginning till the end. The area is great for hiking, of course.
