The machiya is beautiful, full of character, and ever so peaceful. So when a torrential rainstorm rolled in, I was very happy to have an excuse to stay indoors and soak up the beauty and atmosphere here. I had a large tatami room with enclosed balcony and a sitting room, and wish I could just move in! Delicious breakfast that kept me going until dinner time. This place was mostly out of reach from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto, yet close enough to many other overlooked attractions. The space was very well taken care of, and our hosts had top-notch hospitality. Special thanks to Sachiko-San who took the extra effort to speak with us in English and made us feel at home. They provide various amenities including pajamas and moisturiser cream, that may be common in accommodations in Japan but I didn’t expect they would provide it in a capsule hotel. It was my 2nd time staying at their accomodation. Everyone is friendly, the staff were very professional and welcoming. They treat you very well, take care of you as if you were a king/queen. I really do appreciate all the staff there who made my 2nd visit welcoming & fun! The onsens were beautiful & relaxing. Food prepared by chef tasted so fresh & delicious. So commuting is so easy, also it’s a ten minute walk to the Lake and the concert house. I loved the various extras for ones own usage like Slippers, Pyjamas, toothbrushes combs and towels- so even if you forget something they got you covered.
