We stayed only one night as the conclusion of our trip in Yamagata prefecture. People from Tsuruoka are the kindness and it was confirmed by the staff of this hotel that did everything they could to make us happy. As being vegan, they prepared a special breakfast for me which was delicious. We had to leave early in the morning and they prepared it before the opening of the restaurant which was lovely. The hotel is beautiful, the room was very spacious. The onsen is amazing as well. We had a great time and we will definitely come back! Thanks again.

Everything. Room, view, bathroom, service, everything was incredibly amazing. We have a very pleasant stay and pleasant onsen as well. Just to remind that English is very limited, but it is not a problem for us at all.

    Met the owner who was really friendly and spoke English well. He helped us with providing restaurant recommendations and calling in advance to confirm the restaurant was open before we visited. Also had a really nice dinner in the ryokan with a series of different seafood and meat dishes. Overall a great stay!

    The hotel itself was good and the room comfortable. We only stopped over here on our drive north. It was one of the more expensive places we stayed but didn't have a lot of choice. Nice breakfast included. Ladies onsen had washer and dryer which was a great idea as you could do your washing and wait in the onsen. Room was a good size. Convenience store about 5 mins walk away.

    Basically we liked everything about this great hotel. The owner is a lovely guy who speaks excellent english and helped us in a variety of ways. With out a doubt this would be the best place to stay in Sakata.
