Excellent location close to train station and everything happening in Takyama. Welcoming friendly staff at the desk. Fabulous hotel with exceptionally delightful, clean facilities and spacious rooms. Comfortable beds with quality bed linen. Wonderful spa and spa space. Delicious traditional breakfast. Happy hour with generous sake tasting, beer and orange juice. Comfortable dining/sitting area, perfect for meeting others. We enjoyed every minute of our stay for the Autumn Featival in beautiful Takyama. Thank you

It's really hard to express how superb this stay was. And it was only 1 day. I imagine this is thanks to type of the place, not being typical hotel, but rather traditional ryokan with it's quality. From the beginning, the staff was excellent. Helpful, informative, easy to talk to. The room, comparing to our other hotels, was huge. Sleeping on futon was our best sleeping experience during whole stay in Japan. We have booked private bath, and again - everything well prepared, all important things available in the room. We were provided also with yukatas to be used in ryokan, but in addition we could also use more colorful that could be used outside. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from main station and on the way to old town of Takayama. The last but not least - breakfast was the best we had in Japan. We have chosen Japanese one and we could try many elements.

I would say that this was our favorite place of all in 14 days we travelling in Japan. It was like coming home. My sons agree. We needed 8 minutes of walk from train station. We were being late since we missed a train in Koyasan, but owners waited for us. They are really warm and friendly. We got really great advice for restaurants. Room was nice and comfortable and clean. There is a bath, not just shower and also a washing machine. To the center it is only a short walk. We book a place with breakfast option and I really recommend it! Cucumbers and tomatoes were grown by owners! And food was delicious! They are such a nice team!!!

This is a modern, beautiful little house with many comfortable areas, a fantastic washing machine and dryer, a charming garden in a quiet beautiful neighbourhood of Takayama. The wi-fi works perfectly, I had to work remotely and had no problems at all. This was our best stay in our trip to Japan.

    Top class accommodation, elegantly decorated and well furnished. All the household appliances are there. The Nespresso coffee machine with a set of different capsules were much appreciated. Last but not least a parking place is available. I would undoubtedly stay here during the next journey to Takayama.

    Such a lovely stay in a lovely quiet street in central Takayama, close to so many attractions and the morning market. The atmospheric vibe around was unbeatable, and the accommodation itself was lovely as well. It has everything you need for an amazing short or long-term stay - cooking utensils and appliances, washer and dryer, really convenient! It was really easy to get in touch with the host and to check in. Highly recommend!

    Tai and his family are absolutely wonderful hosts! Their home is so clean and very comfortable. Tai offered to pick us up and drop us off at places convenient for our day, exceptionally kind. He also brought us umbrellas to borrow. The traditional breakfast option was superb and would highly recommend. I would 100% suggest a stay here and if I return I will definitely return to Soy. Our accommodation highlight of our trip to Japan!

    This was the best stay of our 3 week trip in Japan. While pricier than other accommodation it was worth it. The location is good- handy to the railway station & shops/ restaurants. Facilities & staff were exceptional, especially Hiro The room was traditional Japanese & quite spacious. The onsen were very good. The shop had an interesting range of products.

    The Ryokan is pretty close to the city center, the personal speaks very good English and they can help you with any information you need. The room and also the shared bathroom and kitchen are clean and have all the amenities you need (towels, soap, shampoo, hair drier, shared fridge, plates, glasses, microwave etc). The bonus of the accommodation is the fact that is very traditional and has a good price, so, overall, worth the stay for maximum 2 nights.

    Offered Japanese and continental breakfast, both were delicious and filling. Tai and his mother provided a warm welcome and excellent accommodations over the weekend. They were kind in opening up their truly lovely home! Tai provided great recommendations for food downtown and helped streamline our day. Beds were very comfy and ambiance of the home is calm and relaxed. Would recommend again and again!

    The best accommodation in my 30-day stay in Japan (8 accommodations altogether). A very well equipped kitchen. A large place (lounge) for gathering to socialize. Ample bathrooms, one with a bathtub to soak in, and toilets. Free coffee/tea and delicious snacks. Well located not far from the railway/bus stations and almost all important sites. Will stay again when I visit Takayama again.

    Very good price and exceptional staff and service. The staff even spoke good English. Great area as well very close to the Takayama attractions. 100% would recommend to anyone staying in Takayama and it was easily the best accommodation I have had so far during my holiday.
