A calm place on a hill with views across the tree tops to Yoshino. Mrs Terashima is a brilliant cook and runs a cafe of great charm. Beautiful gluten free vegetarian meals were prepared for me. I recommend taking the opportunity to have dinner cooked by her. You may attend morning prayers. This opportunity I recommend taking. They put a blanket on the table which reaches the floor, and there is a heater under the table. It was great value for money, my friend and I stayed the night and had the place to ourselves where we could cook, watch movies, play games. It had heaters, a sitting kotatsu table, an and hot water bottles to keep warm. The aesthetics also offered a warm and comfortable feel. Overlooking the mountains and Yoshino river, the property was beautiful and relaxing. Tastefully furnished with everything necessary to stay, cook & wash. It is very near a supermarket. The train station is about 8min walk away. Train ride to Yoshino is about 4min (2 stops). Works for me and my family to do stay 2 nights and have a full day trip to Mt Yoshino. There were lots of great spaces to relax and hang out. The cabins are beautifully done in a traditional style. The kitchen was fully kitted out with everything you need to grill, bbq, hotpot or whatever you like to cook. Yoshino was a great base to explore local shrines, hiking paths, sake breweries and villages. Our host was exceptional in proving recommendations about the local area and even helped us make a booking for Uda’s amazing soba restaurant.
