An amazing property and family. The room was huge and spacious with fan and AC and the bathroom was big. The whole property was very clean and tidy. The owner, his wife and daughter were lovely and made us so welcome. The daughters English is fantastic and she loves to practice it with you. This has to be the best place we stayed in 16 days in Sri Lanka. If you are doing a safari to Yala then this place is so close to the entrance (closer thank Tisso) and the owner can organise a jeep at a very good price. The owners wife even allowed me to watch and help her cook our dinner in her kitchen. The food was amazing. We would definitely recommend this place.

I had the pleasure of staying at Farm Villa Resort in Katharagama for two nights, and it was a wonderful and memorable experience from start to finish! 🌿 From the moment we arrived, the welcome was warm and heartfelt. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything. Special mention to the front office team – truly a gem in hospitality! The room was spacious, the bathroom was very big, and the overall comfort . The clean and inviting swimming pool was perfect for cooling off and relaxing in the serene atmosphere. What makes Farm Villa Resort truly special is its beautiful location surrounded by nature. The resort is set amidst lush paddy fields, and there's a charming little lake flowing through the property, creating a peaceful, scenic environment ideal for rest and reflection. I enjoyed walking through the paddy fields, listening to the birds in the mornings, and even got to pick fresh fruits from the garden! 🍌🌾 It's also conveniently located – just a short walk to the sacred Kirivehera and Katharagama Dewalaya, making it perfect for both pilgrims and nature lovers.One of the biggest highlights was the full-day Yala Safari arranged by the hotel – an absolutely amazing adventure! 🐘🦁 We saw incredible wildlife, and everything was perfectly organized with a knowledgeable guide.The food was another standout. The traditional Sri Lankan dinner was flavorful and authentic, clearly made with care and love. The breakfast offered plenty of variety, and every meal was beautifully presented. The dining team was attentive and courteous, adding to the overall great experience.In summary, Farm Villa Resort offers far more than just a place to stay – it's a place to connect with nature, enjoy delicious food, and experience genuine Sri Lankan hospitality. Definately book here. Everything was perfect. Friendly staff, great food and plenty of it, best accomodation we’ve had in Sri Lanka, beautiful attention to detail and idealic location so close to the Yala NP. Gabriel organised the safari for us with guides that he trusts and they did a great job. We saw a leopard, an elephant, toucans, monkeys, crocodiles, spotted deer and lots of birdlife. Can’t recommend booking this place highly enough.

The hosts were absolutely fantastic, very warm and welcoming. Kapila's knowledge about the flora and fauna in Yala National Park is top level and we would highly recommend doing your safari with him. The rooms are very spacious, the beds are super comfortable and the hotel is in a very quiet spot so you are guaranteed a good night sleep. The garden is beautiful with lots of bird life around too. Highly recommend staying here!

I would give 6 stars if I could! Clean guest house with great location for both Kataragama town and Yala. Both owner and staff are friendly, arranging safari tour (which was cheaper than other places), tuktuks as well as helping me get a bus home. Nothing was too small to ask and the owner went above and beyond. Incredible value for money.

It was a very interesting and cool place to stay. We had a great time there with the owner and the other tourists. The dinner was very tasty and was prepared as a buffet so that you can spend time together with everyone. After dinner there was a musical attraction from the owner, which was also very nice. We also did the safari there. We traveled with the bikes and there was enough space to have them at our bungalow. Thank you very much for everything!

    We stayed in a family cottage. Kapila, the owner and his wife are very hospitable and Kapila knows a lot about the wild life in Yala NP. He organised a fantastic safari in Yala block 5 and Lunugamvehera National Park. Almost the whole day we drove without seeing anyone!

    Good stay for an early safari tour. We had an excellent tour with lots of fun. Ask for harsha if you want to have a motivated driver with the ultimate goal of seeing a leopard!

    We had a great stay. The staff were extremely attentive and made our stay very enjoyable. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the hotel food was fantastic, offering a variety of food options for breakfast and dinner. The hotel also went above and beyond, helping us to arrange a taxi from Ella and a Yala safari, which was the highlight of our whole trip to Sri Lanka. We would definitely recommend a stay at MCR.

    A beautiful treehouse in the middle of the jungle. If you like to stay in unique, more adventurous accommodations then this is the place for you. It is comfortable and you fall asleep listening to the sounds of nothing but the nature around. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any questions you’d have. 100% recommend staying here!

    The accomodation is like a hotel in the jungle! The best kind of glamping you could ask for. Dinner is brought to your room (whilst the restaurant is under construction) and was some of the tastiest food we’ve had. The hosts will organise a safari tour for you. We picked the full day and breakfast and lunch was catered for us - more than enough food! The accomodation is on the border of Yala National Park and it was amazing to wake up to monkeys in the trees and buffalo in the garden. Highly reccomended a stay here.

    Great clean and quiet rooms. Booked with them last minute as our pre-booked accommodation was unsatisfactory and this place was leagues better and for a fraction of the price. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay for a safari.

    The individual houses are located in the forest with a lot of amazing animals and green plants. A rooms are really clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are extremely kind and polite people, who can arrange a jeep safari in the Yala National Park if you need. With the delicious dinner in the garden was an unforgettable experience for me staying here and it was my favorite accomodation during our three weeks in Srí Lanka. (out of 8)
