The cottage is very clean and comfortable. There is a wide variety of kitchen tools and dishs. Washing machine and dryer are very new. We can enjoy the widespreading view of the mountains from the cottage. It was impressive.

This is a special place with so much history. It was the warmest welcome we received in New Zealand from our excellent hosts. This is an ideal place to stay for joining a boat trip to Doubtful Sound (5 minutes walk away) or a short drive to Te Anau.

    Excellent stay here, its next to a beach where you can see a ton of stars, and the milky way. The beds are really comfortable, and the hotel area just has a really nice vibe. You can cook easily in the common room, and have it in your lodge. Close to Te Anau and 2 hours away from Milford. Highly recommend this place.

    We loved being self contained and having space. This provided such a peaceful stay, and being able to look out across the paddocks to the mountains was excellent. Having a lounge enabled our grandson to play with some space.

    Absolutely nothing to like about this property, dirty run down and overpriced. Stay somewhere else! checkin staff not friendly. It's just Yuk! Stay at the Te Anau lakeview holiday Park down the road, a quarter of the price and beautiful.

    I have stayed there before and this time the restaurant was closed and it was not as nice as before, I understand the problems in the hospitality business and it is the same in this country, having said that, the location is great and accommodation was adequate, I would stay again.

    Possum Lodge lived up to its reputation as a friendly, quirky, and comfortable place to stay. It has a laid-back relaxed atmosphere and the owner is super friendly and helpful. Great value for money and lots of accommodation options to suit everyone's needs. Great location - set in beautiful beech forest with views of the lake and close to walking tracks. Highly recommend.
