There was a common kitchen, dinning room and some leisure space. It was very well-equipped. The host was very friendly and we had no problem with the late check-in. I was surprised with bathrooms. They were shared with other visitors and they were still very clean. The room had an amazing view - such a beautiful and green forest! The available accommodations, such as kitchen supplies, games, BBQ, and awesome common space would be great for a solo traveler wanting to get to know other travelers, or for a couple wanting a few days with a homey feel. You truly feel far away from things yet still very close to Piha Beach. Kitekite Falls are close but unfortunately the track was closed during our short one-night stay. The common areas (living, kitchen, fireplace, toilets, showers) were clean, well-stocked, and conducive to nice interactions with other guests. Lots of extra condiments supplied by host. Information on how to get to accommodation was very clear. We were lucky to get into Piha due to road closures (after cyclone) but we'll worth the visit.
