We had a fantastic relaxing stay, the bed was huge and comfortable, the rooms were huge and so clean. The outdoor private mini thermal baths really sealed the deal for us, the photos do not do the property or these baths justice, it is absolutely fabulous and we found it very romantic - but families or lone travellers would also love it. It was a very central location and we were able to conveniently park and charge our car outside our flat for free. The reception lady was so helpful, she helped us find a compatible car charger as ours didnt seem to fit their outdoor sockets, nothing was a problem for her and her upbeat pleasant attitude started our stay off on the right foot. I truely can't believe this place was as cheap as it was, it's an absolute steal! I would 100% go back and my fiance agrees with me completely. It was one of the highlights of our North New Zealand road trip in terms of lodging.

Fantastic private location right on the waterfront but only 5 minutes drive from the wharf and town. Incredible view. Fabulous chalet ("chalet" doesn't do it justice, perfect for those who appreciate 70's/80's architecture with high ceilings and 45 degree angles. The 12-year-old called it "awesome" and said he wanted to live there forever). Two large bedrooms each with a huge ensuite, big well-equipped kitchen and convenient in-chalet laundry. Amazing outlook from large windows in all the rooms. Thoughtfully furnished. Lovely gardens and expansive balconies. A pool house which we didn't use, but good advice from the hosts on the best hot baths in town. Really helpful communication from the hosts, timely and upbeat, nothing too much trouble.

We had the perfect little lodge house right on the beach of lake Taupo. Great to see the sunset and be in a tranquil spot. The property was very clean and comfortable and had everything you could need. Bron the host was very welcoming and helpful. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot for the night.

Loved the hospitality of Don and the privacy of the room. Its located in an unassuming place, but the care and attention to detail helped us to feel more welcome during the stay. The preparation of the bathroom was above and beyond expecations with everything prepared.

The beds were so comfortable and the place was fully stocked and lovely. The owners were so sweet and had left us some food for breakfast which was a lovely touch. They were also incredibly accommodating and included a third single bed which was super comfy for us. Very close to Lake Taupo and it was nice to see some cows across the road :)

On arrival we were well informed by Lizz about the B&B and what to do in the area. Lizz was also available for a chat about life in New Zealand (of course also about items) The rooms were excellent (even better than expected based on the information we found on the internet) The breakfast (musly, cereals, fruit, fresh fruit juice, sandwiches) was excellent and sufficient. In the evening you could have a hot dinner upon request. The location was excellent for our trips to Rotorua and to Tongarino national parcs

    The spa and gym facilities were wonderful and the bedroom and bathroom of a high quality with a lot of space. There was a possibility to have free parking 4 minutes from the accommodations. Bathrobes and slippers as well as amenities were available.

    Everything!! We were absolutely genuinely so happy about our choice of accommodation. The house was clean. It was spacious. It was quiet. Everything we needed for our staff retreat. We had packed pots, utensils, cutlery and paper plates because of past experiences we had with accommodations not providing everything we needed. But this was not the case with our stay at Mercy of Lake Taupo. Our neighbours were absolute joys too (added bonus for sure).

    Our favourite accommodation of six we used during a 2 week holiday touring the north island. Friendly welcoming hosts, clean modern room (we had 5 nights in room 11) with uninterrupted view of lake Taupo and the three snow covered mountains beyond. Self catering is possible through we chose to make the most of the numerous eateries in town many of which are within walking distance. We would stay here again.

    Located literally a street away from the shore of Lake Taupo, we could walk the kayaks and Paddle board directly to lake. Quiet side of lake, but only a few minutes drive into a beautiful town with bountiful eateries and shops. Very clean, hot tub amazing, kitchen was large and made holiday cooking a pleasure with a BBQ also available. Upstairs and downstairs lounging areas with wall mounted TV's in each section. Easy communication with our accommodation hosts, would definitely stay again.
