It was a lovely place to stay, if your using the ferry as we were and getting to Wellington late afternoon you can be there in a hour. Out of the city and ready to head north next morning, after a walk along the beach. Would definately stay there again.

We stayed 2 weeks over the New Year period and found this to be the perfect hideaway in a very private corner of a beautiful garden. Quiet, clean and comfortable with some lovely personal touches. We appreciated the fresh fruit and chilled water we were left. The owners are super friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble (including waiting up for us after a travel delay). We would highly recommend this accommodation for a visit to this beautiful part of New Zealand. Everything is very accessible- including the supermarket, shops, cafes , pub and train station.

As a world traveller I have stayed in many places. This one I walked in at instantly felt at home and very happy. Not only was everything spic and span physically but also energetically. There was no sense of many people having been there. The space was clean and clear and spacious just for us. I will always remember this feeling. The decor was bright and light without creating any "imprints" on the mind. Even the soap was not your every day soap but of high standard. The sun shining in over the mountains in the morning created a sense of 'all is well'. There are excellent curtains should you prefer the dark. We stayed here on the way to the south island to be close to the ferry. There is the hum of the motorway way off in the background which did not bother us at all, and I am highly sensitive. The quality of this place, its energy and its setting in the rolling hills I cannot recommend this place high enough, and myself would always come back here when in the area. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

    Hands down the best private accommodation we have stayed in! Loved it.❤️ Far exceeded our expectations, with beautiful decor, spotlessly clean, and baking and divine fudge were just amazing. Sarah was so lovely, and clever in her coordination of everything, style, colour palette, just perfect xx We adored staying here, and Sarah's recommendation of the local cafe for a meal topped it off beautifully. Definitely stay here and treat yourself!!!

    Perfect home away from home. The location was exact for what we wanted to do on our short break. Hosts Jill and Tom were such lovely helpful hosts. Our room was perfect and met all our needs. It was spotless. The bathroom was big and spacious, and the shower was good. There is no negative feedback we can give for this accommodation. We would definitely stay again.

    Near the Shore is a delightful seaside property only a few minutes drive from restaurants,cafes and train transport. The accomodation has a very comfortable super king bed, good quality bathroom and a well equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher. Our hosts looked after us well and made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay again.

    This accommodation was incredible! A lot of thought had been put into those homely comforts of guests. The living space was huge and the kitchen had an abundance of what one might need when entertaining. It was so clean and the double glazed windows kept the cold weather outside and we were able to enjoy the bright open space. Highly recommend and will definitely search this accommodation again when we visit in the future. Dorothy was amazing with any help we needed during our stay.

    I have stayed in many different bed and breakfast settings. This accommodation exceded my expectations. The hostess was very accommodating and a pleasure to meet on arrival. The rooms I was staying in were beautifully decorated. There were 2 large double bedrooms, a well appointed lounge / dining area and a modern bathroom including a spa bath. My room was cleaned and bed made each day. The provision of breakfast choices was greatly appreciated. A great selection. I will return here next time I visit the Kapiti Coast.
