We drove to the hotel and Chris gave us some good information on parking, since there is no hotel parking. He greeted us congratulating us on our anniversary and presented us a gift (bottle of wine) from the hotel. Btw, it was just past midnight when we arrived and Chris was as cheerful as anyone could have been. We were quite tired, and appreciated the warm greetings. Also, the room accommodations were great. The breakfast was excellent, especially the two types of quiche. We didn't have enough time to explore everything we wanted to at the hotel, including the indoor pool and the small Julia Morgan museum. I don’t recall any motel or hotel ever showing that level of care towards guests. The building is older because everything in Berkeley is older BUT the furnishings, the bathroom, the bed, the outlets for all the digital gadgets people have, are all modern and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. A bonus is the walking distance to local eateries and the North Berkeley BART station.
