It’s Front Office is very picturesque, with mountains of Kumamoto as backdrop. FO staff has good command of the english language, making communication less difficult. They are not shy to greet guests passing to and fro. Upon inquiry, staff recommended “Liebe” as “steak place,” and we had a blast! Steak was very good and not expensive, allowing us to bring our own wine upon payment of minimal corkage…bravo! The hotel is very secured with a big main door that requires guests’ keycards to open it and an elevator that automatically sets guests to their respective floors. Rooms have separate toilet and bath, well-provided with amenities/toiletries and it is possible to open the window to let Kumamoto’s cool winter breeze (brrrrr🥶) in. There are english-speaking channels available and coffee at the lounge is free-flowing.

My stay in Ryokan Yamanami is excellent. The staffs are all nice and approachable. The foods are all delicious and it’s all different in my 3 night’s stay. My room Is very spacious and I love the private onsen. Location is walkable from the station. And it’s a good exercise to walked from Ryokan to lake Kirinko. I will definitely be back next time. 😊

There were many different types of public baths too with varying views/ambiances. Dinner and breakfast were top-notch — you can tell that they’re made of quality ingredients.

Open from September 2019, only 150 metres from JR Hakata Train Station, Miyako Hotel Hakata offers stylish rooms with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The famous Nanzoin Temple is a 30-minute train ride away. The hotel is very well connected to Hakata Station via underground walkway. The direct elevators to the rooms are literally located in the station’s basement floor so all you need is your keycard and viola. The hotel is very new, modern and has very good sized rooms with spacious bathrooms and great amenities. The TV also has Apple TV so you can watch your favorite shows without worrying for bedtime or while eating in the room. There are a lot of food options (in and around Hakata Station), a Starbucks next door, two Lawsons and a Family Mart just around the corners. The staff were amazing and polite and spoke very good English so you don’t have to worry about the language barrier. Thank you for the amazing service and treatment.

It is located 800 metres from Takeo-Onsen Station and offers a concierge service. Takeo Ureshino Marchen Village is 10 km away and Hizen Yumekaido Ninja Village is 14 km from the guest house. Takeo Onsen is such a charming town, and Yujiro (and his family) made my stay there even more fantastic. Yujiro, the owner, contacted me even before my stay with amazing recommendations such as restaurants and attractions in Takeo Onsen area. He even assisted in booking a table for me at an marvelous restaurant. Thank you for making my Takeo Onsen experience truly amazing, Yurijo. In addition, the location of the guesthouse in ideal as you can walk to many places such as the famous tree, the library and the onsen itself. Also, the room is spacious and the bed is comfy.
