The staff were really friendly and made us feel at home, the location was excellent and central, and the room was clean and comfortable. The snacks were a great touch after a long day of travel. We will definitely love to stay again in the future.

You felt completely comfortable experiencing a slice of the real Japan, but with all the modern facilities. Beautiful location near Lake Biwa in the suburbs of Kyoto .

We had this delightful traditional home all to ourselves. It was a classic Japanese style with modern amenities like bathroom and kitchen. A little sun porch overlooked the cute little garden. The communication with our host was excellent ( he spoke English) and he kindly transported us to and from the train station. We made good use of the bicycles provided and really got to explore everywhere from the lake to the city moat that winds through the old town. It was a great place to explore. We stocked up on groceries from a big supermarket a short bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute of it.

The hosts were lovely, the house is very cute, and the room cosy and confortable. The breakfast was delicious. I really enjoyed my stay at this place

A free shuttle runs to/from JR Ogoto-Onsen Station, which is a 5-minute ride away. The rooms are beautiful, the view is amazing, the staff are absolutely lovely. The private hot springs are great. This place is very charming - even magical. Experiencing Biwako Hanakaido felt like experiencing proper Japanese traditions/customs. It felt like a privilege. It's a truly rare and amazing experience that isn't easy to come by. I highly recommend spending a night or a few here.

I tried 3 out of 4 of the public baths (none of the reservable private ones, though) and found them all to be very nice. I liked the indoor one on the 8th floor (which had an open air as well) the most, though the open air bath on the 11th floor was great , too. Staff were very friendly and warm, too. It was easy to access from Ogoto onsen station because there's a phone that allows you to call the shuttle bus.

The facility is so new and very well maintained, it's way way way beyond my expectation. It's like moving to a brand new house, and everything is all setup and ready for you.
