This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The accommodation provides a sauna, spa centre, restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property. It's a return stay for us. The hot spring opens from 3pm throughout the night till 10am, very nice to relax. There are even free ice lollies at night and free yakult in the morning. The flexibility to extend checkout for a reasonable fee is very helpful too. Location is perfect, 10-15min walk to Sendai station and several restaurants, cafes and the famous Mitsukoshi store in the neighbourhood. Staff can speak english and are very helpful. We had a good rest before a long flight home, thank you!

Sendai Museum is a 15-minute train ride from Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East. Sendai Castle and Zuihoden are a 20-minute drive from the property, while Sakunami Hot Spring is located an hour away by car. Really nice hotel. Large and airy room which was also nicely styled and immaculate. Great location with access from within Sendai Station itself (with an additional lift access on floor two). You don't get any more central and of course plenty of food and shopping as per Japanese main stations.

Situated in Takagi, 11 km from Shiogama Shrine, Bridge33 CAFE AND HOSTEL features air-conditioned accommodation and a bar. Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Sendai Toshogu is 23 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 23 km from the hostel. Very nice people, clean facilities, cute bar downstairs, with spacious rooms and delicious breakfast (paid). It was a very enjoyable experience. Please do mind that most activity plays at the other part of Matsushima, which is about half an hour walking.

Featuring free bikes, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hotel has family rooms. The owner was very accommodating and even drove us to the port to get to Tashirojima Island. You can also feed and play with the cats :)

Sendai Toshogu is 21 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 22 km from the guest house. Great guesthouse, highly recommend it. The owner is super nice and very helpful ! Also the guesthouse is perfectly located, it is 2 to 5 minutes walk to all major spots to visit in Matsushima.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Guests can enjoy the on-site private dining room. Free private parking is available on site. The entire experience was extraordinary. We were greeted with welcome drinks in front of a fire, and led to our room by courteous but hospitable staff. Our 3-person room faced a quiet garden, and we enjoyed delicious cake and tea before being led to the dinner. There was a pair of yukata and a pair of more modern pajamas in the room, along with a warm jacket and a pair of socks for each person. There was a toilet in our entrance hall, and a sink and mirror in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both served in an independent Japanese room located in the older building, and our server conversed with us in fluent Mandarin and English. We loved the exquisitely made Japanese dinner and breakfast, every single small dish and platter of it! The two hotsprings were also delightfully pleasant. The indoors medicinal bath was small but very clean, while the outdoor bath was much more spacious. For some reason, we did not meet many people using the bath either in the evening or the morning. We opted for a shuttle bus to leave the hotel in the morning. The hotel was very helpful with answering questions and reserving shuttle service through the booking.com chat room in English. We were extremely happy with our stay, and hope to stay longer next time.

Located right in front of Matsushima Bay, Komatsukan Kofu-tei offers accommodations with free wired internet access. Guests can refresh in the public hot-spring baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals in their rooms. A free shuttle is available from JR Matsushima Kaigan Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Our room was large and the views across Matsushima Bay breathtaking. Loved the onsen experience. Staff was very helpful.

Located just 4.5 km from Sendai City Community Support Center, Sendai Guest House UMEBACHI provides accommodation in Sendai with access to a terrace, a shared lounge, as well as luggage storage space. Featuring a garden, the 1-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. The exceptional thing about this hostel is how the staff actively made an effort into welcoming travellers, Japanese and international into a temporary family. They helped with starting conversation and organizing dinner for staff and guests, and it just works. 11/10 staff experience for me. The atmosphere is great because of it too. Other than that it is just a nice little guest house with a couple of rooms, better showers than usual and everything I needed for my stay.

Ichinoseki Station is 38 km from the holiday home. Sendai Airport is 84 km away. Great value. Simple family accommodations for one night in Miyagi. Works best for families or travellers familiar with Japanese housing.
