We soon realized that we came from sunny Singapore and the family chatted comfortably. The place is very clean and amenities well planned and detailed. Staff spoke some English and were super friendly. They provided parking at the cafe across the street when I told them I was renting a scooter. You can use the kitchen to store food in the fridge and prepare meals - cutlery and pots/pans are included. The hostel is a 30 minute bus ride from Ryotsu Port and is walking distance to a supermarket and the beach.

Hiroko-san has been so lovely and helpful in welcoming us and sharing with us the places to visit and eat. We visited all the sushi places she recommended for dinner and they are spectacular. She even helped us reserved the dinner at a local sushi restaurant for our last night and it was one of the best dinners we ever had. Her Guesthouse is super clean and spacious and the beds r so comfortable. And most of all the lovely cats that accompanied us. We miss them!

Property staff will kindly assist guests with planning their trips to Minamiuonuma. My friend and I had an absolutely fantastic time staying at this hotel. It's a family establishment run by Satoshi and his wife, along with their two small children, with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat with a five minute walk to the Ishiuchi Maruyama gondola. Satoshi and his wife were incredibly kind hosts, providing me and my friend with pick-up from Echigo Yuzawa Station (multiple times since we arrived and departed at different times!) as well as transportation to Maiko Ski Resort. They also rented out snowboarding gear and provided breakfast for extremely reasonable prices. I would recommend this place 10 times out of 10 and have every intention of returning myself in the near future.　サトシさん、誠にありがとうございます！

Offering a terrace and hot spring bath, Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan is situated in Minami Uonuma, 2 km from Maiko Snow Resort. Free private parking is available on site. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us in every aspect - picking us up and dropping us off at the train station, calling a taxi for us, etc. Also love that they have different pillow materials and varying degrees of softness/firmness for you to choose from (first come first serve), ensuring a good nights sleep.
