We had a large apartment with all modern facilities provided for 7 days. We were on the 10th floor with a wrap around balcony which gave us 280 degree views of the ocean, Kii Mountains and Shirahama town. The complex is very new so all accessories were in very good order. The bath for a Japanese facility was very large and thus used often. We chose this apartment complex because of it's location to the beach, supermarket and onsens. We especially enjoyed being able to cook for ourselves and everything necessary for that was provided.

J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine.

This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Everything was very clean and orderly. Beds were very comfortable and duvets very warm in colder November weather. Lovely common area and a nice shared kitchen with free evening rice and morning porridge. Access to private onsen which was a real treat! This was some of the best value for money I’ve seen - highly impressed! Completely exceeded my expectations.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. we could get great experience in Ekoin , vegetarian food was also good. All monks and staffs are friendly and warm welcome. They are good looking too! 😊 Participate all programs of the temple was great. we joined meditation , morning service , fire ritual and night cemetery tour.

We had an amazing stay, the hotel had literally everything we could think of: a spacious room with lots of different (!!) outlets including type-c and usb, free use of hotel onsen with volcanic water (tattoo-friendly), drinking water and fully equipped shared kitchen, and of course - a very reasonably priced bakery. Would definitely stay again if in Shirahama!

There is a shared bathroom with shower in every unit, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen facilities were very good.

What a spectacular guest house! We were blown away by how beautiful it was both inside the house and their wonderful garden area with the oldest Sakura tree in Wakayama. Giovanni and Hitomi were amazing hosts and made us feel welcome and special throughout. Giovanni's set course meal was absolutely delicious with high quality ingredients, we were glad we paid extra for this. After our trek from Takajiri we were able to enjoy some beers in the sunshine in the garden and it was the perfect end to the day. Would recommend to everyone highly 🌸

It is situated 13 km from Fudarakusanji Temple and features luggage storage space. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The location is very good. Very close to the Train station. You can search "Kitchen Tomtom Shingu" in Google Map then you can find the guest house. The guest house is very new, clean and comfortable. Seiko San is very nice. She would try her best to let you know everything even you don't know Japanese, but if you know a little bit Japaness, that would be perfect. It is your best choice when traveling in Shingu.

Accommodation is fitted with air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bidet, slippers and a hair dryer. A fridge and kettle are also provided. At the guest house, all units have bed linen and towels. The monk who runs the property was so helpful recommending local restaurants and giving advice and even gave us a lift to the station. There were free drinks including alcohol. The rooms are part of a temple. The hotel is very close to the main shrine and not far from the station so a great location. The place to stay in Shingu. Good value for money.
