It was a magnificent experience not only because we saw so much nature and wild animals at a close range but because the staff were the best. Nishantha took us to see a local woman who was so poor yet she used whatever means she had to look after 22 orphaned puppies whose mother had been killed. The level of poverty was astounding. The staff help her to survive. Without them there would be certain death. If you can spare some money please give it to him and he will pass it on. A truly humbling and touching experience that jolts you to the core. Special mention to our mates at Yala who made our stay so memorable Sajith, Kasun, Nishantha and our safari driver Amile. Thanks guys, you are the best!

Owner is also a chef. We had a wonderful breakfast and wish we had more time to experience his cooking for lunch or dinner. Were also very helpful arranging Yala safari for us ☺️

Located 6.6 km from Tissa Wewa, Ranakeliya Lodge - Yala provides accommodation with a garden, a terrace and room service for your convenience. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Amazing dinner with magical atmosphere, Saw a little crocodile even. Attention to details of this place and level of service is at the highest level. I really enjoyed the smell and quality of linen and towels. And they do have hot water showers now (which we didn’t expect due to the reviews)
