We arrived at 2 in the night with the bus from HCMC and they stayed up to let us in. We didn't see much of the surroundings as we left early the next day, so we cannot attest to the location if you plan to stay longer in Soc Trang, but we definitely had all the comfort and niceness needed after a 5 hour bus drive.
