I wasn't sure what I was getting for the affordable price. I opted for the bunk bedroom that I fortunately didn't need to share with anyone. I had access to everything from the washing machine to the kitchen and bathroom. I was only sharing with one other person who's residing in a spare room here. The host was a gem with goals of turning this into a wellness retreat. Had an amazing massage/healing treatment for an extra charge but it was so worth it. I think I'm one of the first visitors to her home and I can't recommend it enough. This isn't a hotel so if that's what you're looking for this isn't for you. It's a shared living arrangement in a large basement suite. Hostel style living. 4 minute drive to downtown comox, 4 minutes to tim hortons and McDonald's if that's your thing. Also only a 10 min drive to most beaches.

The room had a private entrance in the back of a private home in a very quiet neighborhood. The home owner met us when we arrived (after 10 PM) and showed us to the room. The room/suite had so many nice touches that it really felt like home. In the morning, the owner came over and gave us coffee (after we broke the coffee maker that was in the room).

Offering views of the Strait of Georgia and the mountains, this hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool and daily continental breakfast. Courtenay is 7 minutes' drive away. Excellent facility, comfortable beds, very clean. Staff lady offered suggestions on area attractions and sights to see! Good breakfast!
