Located in Tofino and with Tonquin Beach reachable within 1.3 km, Whalers Guesthouse provides a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a terrace. This was honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. The atmosphere was super welcoming and it was so easy to meet people – perfect for solo travelers. The staff were incredibly kind and always happy to help with recommendations or just have a chat. The location was ideal, close to everything I needed, and the hostel itself was clean, cozy, and had a great vibe. The beds were comfy, the bathrooms were always clean, and the common areas had a really chill energy. I also appreciated the small details – lockers, good Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped kitchen.

features an on-site sushi restaurant and bar, this unique hotel is located on Tofino Harbor. The hotel is made up of recycled bricks from downtown Vancouver and each room is individually decorated. The building is older and solidly built so there's no need for noisy AC. Peace! There's a heater for winter months which would be super cosy. The location is fantastic, we never tired of the view. The bed is enormous and the bed and bedding really, really comfy. The bath is huge and really appreciated after a body day exploring trails. The room had everything we needed. Car park was appreciated.

This is a fabulous and beautiful little town. Outstanding views Great restaurants Plenty of stuff to do, from whale watching and kayaking to hiking in forests and looking out for bears. People were friendly and helpful I would not recommend this town more highly
I first visited Tofino twenty years ago. It was a quaint, small town that had incredible views, top rated restaurants and excellent ways to experience the area. We couldn’t wait to revisit the area. It has grown considerably and it has become a real tourist trap. It’s now overrun with tourists, the top rated restaurants no longer exist, and it now attracts a younger population. As a senior, I was deeply disappointed that my recollection of Tofino no longer exists. Like many Canadian destinations, it caters to attracting tourists, not maintaining the main reasons why the destinations were popular in the first place. I have loved Canada most of my life, but this was my very last visit.
Tofino is an amazing corner of the world. Stunning scenery, nature, freshness. Great restaurants. Great local shops. Nice place to walk and hike and go to countless sandy beaches - The best on the west coast. 5 stars
I first visited Tofino 40 years ago. It is now more like a tourist spot and less like a fishing village. The natural beauty has not changed. The people are still very friendly. If you like biking you should plan for that. There is a 40 km bike path mostly through the forest, and mostly flat.
Here is a tourist destination that is expecting the best from visitors and sets up to serve all comers. With EV fast chargers, accessible in-sidewalk bike pumps and a progressive attitude to water bottle usage (water fill station for reusable containers to reduce single use plastic), and directing public parking fees back to improving local infrastructure, this is what every tourist town should aspire to. Recommend getting the HONK parking app as all paid parking signage includes the location code making parking easy without having to feed the meter.
Have been to Tofino 3 times now and as a senior I find it to be overpriced and overhyped. If you are young and into the surf scene then Tofino is a must go. Otherwise most of the activities found there (except any unique scenery of course) can be found in less expensive places.
