Boasting a garden, terrace and views of mountain, Shangri-La Youran Valley Inn is situated in Shangri-La, 700 metres from Guishan Park. This has to be the best place to stay in the entire city. For one thing, its one of the few original wooden hotels to survive the fires. Most other places are modern constructions, but here you're staying in the real deal. The hotel is also located just on the edge of the old town, which is a real scrum. Its great to be close to the action but able to remove yourself from it. And then there's the hosts, who are *amazing*. So kind, generous, helpful. Excellent English. They plied me with snacks, helped me do laundry, and gave me lots of ideas and advice. The hot water was very hot, the internet was fast, the bed was comfortable. If you're looking for an friendly place to stay that isn't a gigantic chain-style hotel, this is the spot for you.

Tucked away in the fabled Shangri-La, Courtyard Shangri-la 藏舍小院 is a peaceful setting featuring cosy guestrooms of Tibetan touches. Incredible service, extremely reliable and amazing driver. Could not recommend highly enough, especially for a solo traveler or friends traveling. Great space.

Beautiful design, friendly puppy and the most helpful and hospitable owner you can imagine. Also, the breakfast is amazing with specialty coffee) If you are a foreigner and coming by taxi, you can call the owner so the driver can find the place easily) I hope to come back here again 🙏
