The hostess Anna Rita was very helpful and went above and beyond in assisting us when a family member got sick. She took exceptional care of all of us ? assisting us with everything we needed. Their guide Owen was very helpful too, assisting us with our medical needs and taking care of us by talking to the doctor and even bringing us medication. He was very knowledgeable and did a phenomenal job showing us the local wildlife during our tour. Ana Rita and Owen were truly amazing and we appreciate all they did to make our stay very enjoyable and comfortable.

If you want somewhere authentic, in the local village with great hosts Gloria and Sergio, do not hesitate to book here. Very clean, quiet, ideally situated. We did the night walk/boat with Gloria and Sergio which was amazing, definitely worth doing. If you need a taxi boat or want to do a tour of the canals, go through Owen, their friend. The traditional breakfast was delicious.

Set on a riverbank and surrounded by jungle, Tortuga Lodge offers an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant serving fusion cuisine with Caribbean flavours. All rooms have river views. It is difficult to describe how great this place is. Piece of heaven in the heart of jungle. Amazing rooms - basic but clean, bright and matching the place. Great surroundings - basically full jungle experience in the hotel) iguanas and other animals round you. Perk is boat shuttle (1 min) to airstrip and beach.

The lodge is located between the river and the ocean, so you get the best of both worlds. The hosts were so accommodating and made all of the reservations for our tours as well as picking us up in La Pavona and shuttling us in the boat back and forth to town. The morning canoe tour with Manuel was our favorite tour so far.

Offering a garden, swimming pool and a wellness center with massage services. Aninga Lodge is located 3.2 km from Tortuguero National Park. We were so pleased with Aninga lodge, it's setting is stunning, the facilities are great. We enjoyed being able to walk across to the neighbouring/sister hotel of Pachira lodge as well and walk through their forest walk to see lots of wildlife. Being in the pool and watching the monkies jump around in the trees above you was a treat. We were concerned that having to get the boat across to the town could be really inconvenient, but getting the boats across the water was actually all part of the experience that we really enjoyed. Absolutely fantastic hotel, we'd love to stay again!
