Bécordel-Bécourt (1.2 miles from Albert – Picardie Airport)
Featuring garden views, Maison Au champ du souvenir 5 chambres 8 personnes features accommodation with a garden, a bar and barbecue facilities, around 32 km from Amiens Train Station. The owners are very friendly and doing their best that the quests are feeling good. It is a two-levels home with a very nice living room downstairs and three nice bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and quite comfortable to cook. There is a big private parking just in front of the gate and a huge nice garden with lovely roses and flowers, very comfy terrasse in shadow and a lot of space to run for the kids. In the night (but also in the daily time) it was very calm in the village so we had a very good sleep – also thanks to the very comfortable beds. The surroundings are very nice as well. We definitely will try to stay here again if we will be back to this region, what I really hope. Thank you very much!

Hotel in Albert ( 2.6 miles)
Hôtel De La Paix is located in the city center of Albert, 500 meters from the 1916 Museum and 22 km from Villers-Bretonneux. The room was dated, but the bed was comfy and the place felt clean. The en-suite was miniscule and one has to be a contortionist to use the shower, but the owner(?) was very pleasant and helpful, and went out of his way to help. A decent breakfast too. It's very handy for the centre of town and, once the traffic had died down, surprisingly quiet.

We wanted to stay in Albert as the centre for a tour of the Somme WW1 battlefields and monuments. Virtually any site of importance is within a 15-minute drive - perfect. The Somme Museum, situated right opposite the hotel in which we stayed, is very much worth a visit.
Beautiful village, close to tourist sites and amenities. Plenty to do or just relax. Well worth including on your itinerary. We ate dinner in the township of Albert, 2 kms away, at Le Bistrot & La Basilique. Both highly recommend but worth booking ahead. Breakfast at our accommodation was excellent.
There was a lot to see if you are interested in WW1, the cemeteries are dotted around, we didn't get to go to the caves at Arras, and we didn't get to go to Jules Vernes house in Amiens as it was closed the day we were there! Lots of history here. We will be returning to the area.
Very nice town with friendly inhabitants. The 1916 Somme Museum is excellent and a Must to see. Seek out Brigitte De Cuyper at get-a-guide.co.uk if you want to learn all or anything about WW1/2, Very friendly and helpful staff in Le Bistrot & Le Hygge.
Our hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable well beyond our expectations. Their attention to detail and great kindness made a good stay really excellent.
Albert is an excellent base to visit World War 1 memorial sites from given its central location. The town itself has a number of very good restaurants and the Basilica and the Somme museum are well worth visiting.
