It was well connected and perfect for our requirements as someone staying for a weekend event at the NEC. It felt safe and clean and welcoming overall. Despite being next to an airport and being an easily disturbed sleeper, I slept perfectly.

The guy there was very friendly yet professional and was very helpful. I arrived exhausted after training all day and I was leaving at 3.30am for my flight. He arranged a taxi for me and a ground floor room.

We left the room after roughly 2 hours . Bedding was dirty, drug paraphernalia under the bed and used cigarette on bathroom floor. Someone who stayed the night before also tried coming in our room looking for his phone that he lost! Felt extremely unsafe. Paid for food to be delivered but just wanted to get out of there. Booked another hotel immediately . Appalling service and disgusting. Genuinely don’t know how they are open!!

We dropped our bags at airport then went to the hotel by taxi and came back by taxi next day. The high cost of the taxis meant that we could have chosen a hotel on campus at more convenience and with about the same expense overall.

The local pub was very busy on the couple of occasions I went. But well worth the visit. Used the train station and an excellent service into Birmingham, plus a joy walking through the village set up for Remembrance Sunday.

The location of hotel is the only thing going for it.
The location of hotel is the only thing going for it. It’s close to the airport and resorts world
The room was too small. One towel and hand towel for two of us.
One cup for two guests.
Bathroom light didn’t work and no toiletries.
Door to the room had to be pushed with force to open due to carpet restricting it.
The noise from the outside was so loud I thought the window was open!
Mirror on the wall in a terrible position
We had no sleep!!

Marston Green is quiet and safe. Close to the airport, so convenient to get in and out.
Pubs unfortuantely are best avoided. Marston Green Tavern service and staff attitude is terrible, and place is best avoided.

Once inside it was clean and comfortable, the area was not great and difficult to find after dark as a door between shops, whose shutters were down. First impressions when opening the door from the street weren’t great but up the first staircase to another door that opened to a much nicer interior.

I think you can stay in much more upmarket places for the same or less money. It needs a deep clean and a proper chef at lunch time or a more basic menu so whoever is there for lunchtime can prepare it nicely. I love old pubs that are not part of a chain but they must keep up with cleanliness and standards in 2025.
The Indian restaurant around the corner is absolutely amazing!! And if it wasn't for the terrible food served at lunch we could never have gone around the corner for dinner and found the hidden gem soho at Hampton.

Well placed hotel if you are visiting the NEC.
Well placed hotel if you are visiting the NEC. About 10 minutes walk from the centre and made a great base for us while we were attending the car show. Staff were great, room was presentable, although the carpet in room 264 was badly stained with what looked like make-up or boot polish. Slept well as the beds were comfortable. The pool and changing area was a bit small for such a large hotel, but we used this when it wasn't busy so it wasn't so bad. Breakfast was great and good value for money, booking for the restaurant is recommended as it gets busy but overall an enjoyable stay and we will be back again.

The worst type of council estate I have ever encountered.
The worst type of council estate I have ever encountered. First time in ages I saw 3 police car chases in one evening. 3 days on and back in quiet, tranquil Suffolk but I cannot stop thinking about the place, it has really affected me. I cannot believe people live like this.... I will say that I could not bring myself to actually stay in the property overnight, I had to cut short my business trip and I went home an hour after arriving.

The hotel itself was remarkably clean. I had a very comfy bed, a big screened TV and it was right in the main walkway of Birmingham City center. A little noisy but what do you expect! I stayed here before an early morning flight. So it was very nice to be able to relax and watch shows before the stress of Birmingham Airport.
