Set amid the shops on Alton's main street "Not to be confused with Alton (the home of Alton Towers) in the Midlands" the Swan Hotel is a historical building that dates back to 1377. We had a warm welcome at the reception desk. The room was sufficient. The breakfast is particularly good. The personel very kind. The menu for diner offered enough choice. I would sincerely recommend the Swann Inn if You go to Alton, Chawton, Winchester. A perfect place to be.

It's cute, tiny, but has everything needed for a short stay. It was quiet during the night. The pub next to it had really good dinner and breakfast, with attentive staff and nice local people hanging out.
