Rooms are clean, food is not bad, staff are helpful and will recommend good guides to Baliem trekking that so not charge you a fortune. Consider that if you book through agencies before arriving in Wamena, you get the same guides but at extortionate prices (maybe it's unavoidable if you visit during the festival...). Overall, if you are here for trekking , I suggest you stay at the hotel, despite the negatives below. Wamena is not a luxury retreat, so I doubt other places will be that better and bug free (you are in the middle of the jungle after all)

Pintu Biru Hostel tọa lạc ở Wamena. Hostel cung cấp một số căn có nhìn ra thành phố và mỗi phòng đều có phòng tắm chung với vòi sen. Moly and Sonya were amazing hosts. I immediately felt at home. They helped me organize guides upon arrival. The hostel is super clean, breakfast was superb and the kitchen facilities were great! They really really take care of their guests and will do everything to make you feel comfortable! They also offered great tips for sights/treks/etc and can get a guide to meet you in the hostel quickly (even during the Bailem festival- busiest week of the year). I really felt like part of the family and would come back to Wamena just to visit them! Thank you for everything!!
