I had a wonderfull stay for one night. Everything was very clean and Patricia (the owner of the appartement) was super kind and helped me getting a lift from the bus station to the appartement and the next morning to the airport. I would definetly come back if I am around this area.

This is a perfect hideout if you like rural living, animals and starry skies. The hosts welcome you with open arms and the whole family takes time out of their day to add that much to your stay. The hosts have multiple animals (from very friendly and playful dogs to farm animals) and we got a chance to pet them all. The location is secluded in the middle of the nature, which suited us very well. There is a kitchenette to save you from having to go out to eat. The bed was comfortable. Swinford was somewhat of an afterthought for us -- a quick stop so we could visit a friend -- but The Gateway, as well as the Swinford location, ended up being a very pleasant surprise. This is a small hotel but it has an elevator which is a HUGE bonus for travelers tired of lugging bags up and down stairs in smaller Ireland inns. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The manager was very responsive and helpful in getting us an iron and ironing board to prepare dress clothes for our night out. Even though hotel parking is on the street, we had no trouble getting a spot. Swinford itself is a nice central location for exploring nearby towns. Breakfast was included the next morning and was decent.

Very clean well organised place, exceptional value for money. My kids love the place, number of beds, beddings and kitchen are all matching my family needs. Enough parking space for two cars👌 Neigbourhood is super quite and clean and there us plenty of near by resturants and Tesco, a plat ground and the most important thing is that Mayo University hospital is 20 minutes drive from Peggy place.
