We were moved to the Thorshamar House instead of the Cave Apartment (unknown circumstances). The house was so cosy and beautiful. We loved our stay. It felt so homely. Bed was very comfortable. House was clean. Bonus that there's a washer and a dryer in the bathroom. Our host Karen was so lovely and spoilt us with all the food she brought. She is very quick to respond to my queries. Wifi connection - excellent! Such a shame we were only there for 1 night.

If by any occasion you pass by Grásteinn Guesthouse, take a breakfast with them and try to stole the recipe for that “out-of-this-world” dark bread, …it worths more than gold. Besides all extremely good, cozy and comfort with the room and sleeping conditions, this stay won the prize of “the best breakfast in Iceland” for this vacations.

Big bonus - hot tubs outside plus beach in front, where we took a cold dip to the sea. What is more, there are extra towels and even swimming suits in a bathroom which you can use for hot tubs, in case forgot your own.

Located in Skinnastadir, Dettifoss Guesthouse is 25 km north of Dettifoss Waterfall. It offers simple, modern rooms with shared bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. Location to the Asbygi region. The guesthouse has fully updated WCs and kitchen. The rooms are a nice size. The common areas are well designed. We enjoyed lunch on a sunny patio.
