The staff at the hotel are outstanding! They helped me with all my requests without hesitation. That is why I gave them a 10! There is really nothing to do in this town, it makes a good quick stop but not much more. Keep going to the East Fjords!

Located in Skinnastadir, Dettifoss Guesthouse is 25 km north of Dettifoss Waterfall. It offers simple, modern rooms with shared bathrooms. WiFi and parking are free. Location to the Asbygi region. The guesthouse has fully updated WCs and kitchen. The rooms are a nice size. The common areas are well designed. We enjoyed lunch on a sunny patio.

It is pretty remote, but that's the beauty of it. I've never experienced such quiet! We also saw the most amazing Northern Lights display of our life. The big windows in the cabin are all glass and look out over Ásbyrgi Canyon and we were even able to see the Northern Lights through the windows. The design of the house is very thoughtful. The parking is also right in front of the cabin. We wanted to extend our trip here, but it was unfortunately sold out. You won't regret booking here!
