Situated in Hatton, 20 km from Adam's Peak, Camellia Hills features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The property itself is well maintained, boutique and the service beyond excellent! Unfortunately we went there during the cyclone, so weren’t able to enjoy the facilities or the town at all. It was raining heavily, and the staff took their utmost care of entertaining us and making sure we were comfortable. They constantly checked and updated us, and placed our safety first. The food, service and tea were exceptional. Highly recommend

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. I came here last minute due to plans changing with the cyclone. Vasnthi and Ravi, the hotel owners, so kindly and selflessly took me in and looked after me during this stressful time, whilst dealing with their own worries. the rooms are beautiful and clean, overlooking a river. the breakfasts and other meals that Vasnthi made were all delicious and I appreciate her support and kindness so much. the hotel is five minutes walk from a beautiful church and tea fields, and a quick ten minute bus ride from Hatton Town. would really recommend a stay here and thank you so much again to Vasnthi and Ravi!

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
Hatton is a good transport hub for more popular destinations, but it’s also worth visiting as it has easy access to tea plantations, waterfalls, beautiful scenery and is a 1 hour, 30mins bus journey to Sri Pada/Adam’s peak. It’s a busy small city/town so it’s a good place to observe real local life and customs. It’s easy to take a stroll along paths through the nearby tea plantations.
Nestled deep in the heart of Sri Lanka’s central highlands, Maskeliya is a place that feels like it was painted by nature itself. From the moment you begin your journey toward this hill country gem, the landscape begins to shift—lush greenery unfolds across rolling hills, mist dances over tea plantations, and the air grows cooler, fresher, more alive. Maskeliya isn’t just beautiful—it’s breathtaking. The views are beyond imagination. Wherever you turn, there’s something to marvel at: towering peaks wrapped in clouds, shimmering lakes nestled between valleys, and winding roads that seem to disappear into the horizon. It’s the kind of scenery that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and feel grateful just to witness it. And then there’s the weather. Perfect doesn’t even begin to describe it. The mornings are crisp and golden, with sunlight gently warming the hills. By midday, the breeze picks up, carrying the scent of wildflowers and fresh earth. Evenings are cool and serene, ideal for sipping a hot cup of Ceylon tea while watching the sky turn shades of lavender and rose. Whether you’re hiking toward Adam’s Peak, exploring the quiet charm of local villages, or simply sitting by a window and soaking in the view, Maskeliya offers something rare: a sense of peace, wonder, and connection to the natural world. It’s not just a destination—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.
Hatton, Sri Lanka, is a fantastic travel destination known for its breathtaking views and pleasant, cool climate. The serene environment provides a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities, such as hiking and exploring the scenic surroundings, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. Overall, Hatton is a charming place that captivates with its natural beauty and inviting atmosphere.
Hatton is a nature paradise. Cool vibrant city in the central hills of Srilanka. Beautiful waterfalls, mountains and tea plantations within and outside the city. Adams Peak can be reached via Maskeliya Town. Very cold in the night. Variants of sweetmeats available in the market.
Hatton is a very basic locals town, as it is surrounded by tea plantations. The surrounding landscape is stunning. The design of the bungalow residences is fabulous. Each with its own unique charm. I thoroughly reclined a stay here.
