Exceptionally helpful staff when one of our cases was late to arrive. Flexible too, waiving the day visitor fee so that our family could join us by the pool. Magnificent breakfast buffet incorporating many different Asian cuisines as well as western standards, best I’ve ever seen. A bit of an oasis in Yangon.

Mercure Yangon Kaba Aye is centrally located along Kaba Aye Pagoda Road leading to Inya Lake and just a 15-minute drive from Yangon International Airport and Shwedagon Pagoda. The hotel was clean and tidy. My room was large with necessary facilities like fridge, microwave, laundry machine. Water was refillable at the Lift area The bed was very comfortable Unfortunately I didn't take a dive in the pool...which looked so clean and pristine. The receptionist, Htet as well, Phyo, the manager were very helpful. The receptionist assisted me in making telephone calls to my spa...as I didn't have a local Simcard, neither could I speak Burmese. The lady manager also allowed my late checkout. My appreciation to the nice room service guys from the bar. All in all, everyone was friendly and great in their service.

In it was visas, tickets and a lot of cash. When they found it they send me a message straight away. With their quick reaction my trip trough Myanmar would have been a nightmare. My name is Tom Francis, and if you have a couple of minutes, I would like to tell you a story, so please bear with me: The staff picked up my luggage from the cab, while I was paying the driver. They missed one bag because the driver lied saying I only had one bag when in fact I had 2 bags, one was on the floorboard, so I lost the bag. In all truth they should have asked me, not the driver but everyone makes mistakes. It's what they did about it that impressed me to no end. When they discovered that they had lost one of my bags, the most important one. The manager "Wai Yan Soe" called the police and was relentless in his efforts for 2 whole days. They got the footage from the surveillance cameras, identified the car, tracking the car with the help of traffic police, till they found the driver. Upon finding the driver and searching his home, they found he had hidden the bag in his house, the police found it in their search. I had 3 MacBook Air computers that I use for my work as well as my US passport. The driver had the hotel business card from the hotel all the time because I gave it to him so he could call and get directions. The driver could have called the hotel anytime and let us know that he found my bag, but he did not. It took a police search to retrieve my belongings and all this was coordinated by Wei Yan Soe, the manager. Piece of advice in Myanmar, check your luggage every step of the way. The second thing is with the staff at Serene Stay Hotel, you are in safe hands. They had my back!

Superb location with nice shopping mall adjacent to the hotel made it so convenient and comfortable to drop by for informal meetings and meals. Dining at the Market was also enchanting with its delicacies and their staff were well attentive and professional in handling service. I enjoyed the privacy at high class. Room amenities were sufficient. Lighting and electrical sockets were sufficient. Overall 10/10.
