The prices are more than reasonable, and the experience of staying on a local island and immersing in the local culture is what a holiday in Maldives should be! We had an unforgettable stay at Kandima Maldives. The service was excellent and the island was absolutely beautiful. Our villa was spacious, clean, and right by the gorgeous white-sand beach with crystal-clear water. Breakfasts were fresh and had a great variety, and dinners were delicious with beautiful settings. Our boys loved the kids’ club — it was fun, safe, and gave them lots to do while we relaxed. The resort had the perfect mix of activities and relaxation. We would love to come back!

It was our first time traveling to Maldives, so cannot compare this hotel to others, but the whole experience was terrific! If you stay in one of the In-Ocean rooms, you are basically staying in the middle of an enormous exotic aquarium. Any time you desire, you just jump into the water and see all kinds of marine life, including turtles, stingrays, baby sharks, octopuses, and all kinds of fish! We even watched a group of dolphins swim around the reef. The room we stayed in was huge, which made us feel like we could stay in the room our entire trip without feeling the need to go out. The staff was great, but we stayed here during Ramadan, which was extra tough on them, having to fast. Also, there is a baseline difference between hospitality in the US and Maldives; having said that I think they did a decent job. The food options were good, but not particularly memorable.
