I have been traveling together with my girlfriend to the Maldives and we really didn't know how it's going to be on a local island. Shahid (host) is a person that sets value on good communication beforehand as well as on the trip itself. Before we came there, we chatted via WhatsApp about everything important (flights, diving license, prices etc.). That helped a lot because we felt informed all the way through. I wanted to dive, but my girlfriend cannot. So, she could stay on the boat, could do some snorkeling while I was diving. Shahid managed everything and paid much attention on us feeling good. We could ask him anything at any time. The stay at La Cabana was way better than expected because of the very personal contact to the super-friendly staff. All in all, the staff works in a very professional way, is reliable, open-minded, funny and makes you think of cancelling your flight back. :) We definitely would recommend staying at La Cabana. If you are looking for a family-like guesthouse offering many awesome diving and snorkeling trips, you should book here.

We were relocated to this hotel after our original well-marketed hotel on the same island was overbooked, despite our early booking and confirmation. This hotel has far exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless, spacious, with a balcony, ample lighting, and a lovely bath with a shower. Daily water and coffee were offered, and cleaning services were excellent. The staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful—from reception & restaurant team to managers & cleaners. We were consistently offered assistance, from rides to Bikini Beach to food and amenities. The perfect balance of personal space and attentive service made our stay incredibly relaxing. Although we didn’t take any excursions (as we just wanted to enjoy the ocean), the hotel also offers various trips, snorkeling, diving, and experiences with whale sharks, mantas, and coral reefs, with equipment provided. We loved the hotel so much that when our original booking became available, we chose to stay here instead. The breakfast, dinner and local Maldivian meals were good & filling. The hotel’s restaurant offers a diverse menu, with local, Sri Lankan, European, and South Asian dishes, plus desserts. It’s also open to guests from other hotels & locals, all of whom we've seen coming a lot. Our return trip to Male was flawlessly organized through the hotel, with staff assisting with luggage and escorting us to the jetty. We highly recommend this hotel and its fantastic staff! We’re now eager to return and explore the Maldives' stunning underwater world.

Kiki the owner could not have been more amazing. Right when I got there, he picked me up, got me a coconut and said welcome to the island, you are a local now - anything you need, I will help you. He took me to his grandmothers house for dinner two different times. I got to attend a big family gathering of there and he helped me with my scuba arrangements and my jet boat transportation. An absolutely amazing human and a great place to stay.

Very smiling, hospitable and kind people work there, always ready to help. The hotel is very cozy, you relax there and forget everything. The island is very calm, the people are kind and smiling. I recommend you all to visit there.

White Sand Inn situa-se em Maamigili e tem um jardim, salão partilhado, terraço e acesso Wi-Fi gratuito em toda a propriedade. Umar runs a wonderful guesthouse in White Sands Inn. The rooms are clean, the AC cold, the showers hot, and an easy 1 minute walk to the beach. Rakib, the caretaker, is very helpful, cooking breakfast at times convenient for you, helping organise trips, cleaning your room, and generally making you feel both safe and welcomed. Our family did the whale shark trip twice as we didn't get to see them on the first day, but did on the second day, along with dolphins too. We also went to picnic island and got to see several more grey reef sharks and a cow tail sting ray. Umar was also very helpful in setting up speed boat transfers to and from Male/Maamigili. He was available on whatsapp before and during our stay with very timely responses. Make sure you reseach Maamigili first as it is a local island, focused on other industries with a basic tourist infrasture. Personally, our family really liked it and enjoyed the slow pace. We got to talk with many of the locals over the 5 days. Overall, if you are looking for an affordable and convenient way to fulfill your dreams of swimming with the biggest fish in the ocean, you can do it here at White Sands Inn.

My boyfriend & I stayed at Vilu Residence for 16 nights and our experience could not have been better. This place is an incredible value. The level and quality of service was resort-like, and far beyond what we were expecting for the price. Sparkling clean and comfy rooms, super comfortable beds & high quality bedding, delicious homemade breakfasts every morning, walking distance to the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in my entire life at the Bikini Beach, close to a few great restaurants (The Chef was our favorite), super fun high quality excursions at great prices, all hosted by the most wonderful sweet family. We really could not have asked for more and will definitely plan to return. The excursions we did were: whale shark snorkeling, manta snorkeling, big game fishing (which included cooking a delicious fresh fish dinner at Vilu later that night), and the sand bank tour. I loved that all of the beach and snorkel equipment we needed was provided and beach towels were always available. I would recommend all of the excursions, but especially the sand bank tour. It was so beautiful, dreamlike, and memorable. Thank you so much Rai & family for an incredible first experience in Maamigili. Can’t wait for our next stay at Vilu!
