I was very lucky with my room: I looked straight at the harbour and church from my bed. Free hot water and tea bags whenever needed. Otherwise everything was fine and kind of as expected for a big modern hotel - good wifi, friendly staff etc. The breakfast was nice. Location is brilliant, and I really liked Hammerfest, as it is not too small to be bored yet not as touristy/big as other towns in the North of Norway. I washed two items of clothing with the soap in the bathroom and they still smell nice even 4 days afterwards :)

The winter lake view was mesmerising. I could sit for hours watching it change with the weather and the twilight. The location was very walkable, easy to walk around town, only a few mins to the main street and local shops and supermarket. The property was undergoing renovation - almost completed but the kitchen and bathroom were functional. Laundry and sauna available on request to owner who lived upstairs with family.

We really appreciated the washer/dryer, which worked great. The info booklet created by the hosts had very useful material - I wish all rentals would do this. And good hiking info which we took advantage of. The kitchen had everything we needed. The view while cooking or relaxing was wonderful as advertised!
