Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. Amazing views from the rooms, a little noisy but such an awesome trip! Just what we wanted, also great meals from the restaurant!
