With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site. the hotel's just a ten-minute walk from the ferry terminal, was incredibly convenient. It made our arrival hassle-free. I must especially commend the warmth and hospitality of the hotel owners. We arrived on the earliest ferry, and they not only sent someone to greet us at the pier but also facilitated our early check-in, sparing us the wait until the official check-in time. The room was impressively clean and even featured a small kitchenette, which proved to be a lifesaver for preparing baby food for my little one. The thoughtful provision of a complimentary baby cot was a pleasant surprise, and the valuable tips and recommendations for exploring the island and dining options were greatly appreciated.

Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The staff was so helpful before and during our stay, including a last minute request for a lift from the Ferry terminal to our hotel. The room was large and comfortable, perfect for our stay. TY

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. Amazing views from the rooms, a little noisy but such an awesome trip! Just what we wanted, also great meals from the restaurant!

Owners were super lovely and helped return an item I left on the island asap! They picked us up from the ferry and had a courtesy car we could hire during our stay which was invaluable. Cabins are fairly close to each other but private enough we could enjoy our stay. Had washer and dryer available if needed.

Perfect temperature, layout, design, bedding. WE LOVED IT! No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.
