We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will gladly recommend it to friends headed this way. In particular, we appreciated the breakfast items and little snack extras provided by gracious hosts, Doug and Sandra, and loved the tastefully furnished patio & expansive lawn area. The apartment was located in very pleasant, quiet, semi-rural surroundings just outside the town itself and very close to a beach. Whakatane is a beautiful, very tidy town with ample dining venues & amenities, scenic sights and lookouts within easy reach and a wonderful, safe surf beach on the other side of town. The eastern end of the Bay of Plenty is well worth visiting - really a must for anyone visiting New Zealand!
