my favorite thing was definitely the beautiful surrounding scenery well that and the mud but most people dont like that lol, i thought the owner jose was a very nice man friendly and helpful and treated his guests like on of the family, i would fully recommend staying there any time of the year

We visited at Xmas, so very much felt out of season, small and friendly with good range of local cafes and restaurants. Christmas lights and nativity scene were a delight. Highlight for us was the Jose Do Canto botanic garden, which even in Late December was a welcome oasis of calm and greenery, and big trees, bamboos and chickens. Farmers Market was well worth a visit, we got everything we needed for Xmas dinner here, oh, and the bakery near the hotel, as likelihood of finding restaurant open in the rural area we were headed to was slim. Stall holders were all friendly and ready to help. We walked along the coast one day, probably a lot different in the summer. As a place to stop and get orientated and buy supplies after getting off the plane Ponta Delgada did what it needed to do for us, but if you enjoy walking in the countryside don’t linger here.

It was a very enjoyable stay. From the first day of arrival to the last day. Location is great to be in between of a sandy beach in a walking distance from the apartment and Ponta Delgada in opposite direction along the ocean coast. Apartments with a picturesque view on the ocean with 4 bedrooms (2 of them with a balcony on a ocean side), fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms on a separate floors. Communication with hosts was very good. Helped us a little bit on arrival with instructions how to enter the apartment and provided us with many helpful information including weather conditions and ordered the taxi to airport early in the morning. Helped us to explore the island connecting us with local tourist company. One day trip to famous local points of interests with Ivo was very pleasant and informative. In one word Highly Recommended!

BLACK MOULD AND DAMP IN PROPERTY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. As soon as you walk into the property, there is a VERY strong smell of damp/mould. It meant I couldn't sleep properly for the 2 nights we were there and I actually had breathing problems for days afterwards. There was a huge dehumidifier in the kitchen and it had also recently been re-painted so the owners know of this issue and still are accepting paying customers, which is terrible as it's a health hazard! We let the reception know and what they offered as an alternative accommodation was not relative. Also we only had 3 days on the island so didn't have time to be researching alternative places to stay. It was the morning so we'd opened all the doors to get rid of the smell. At night when all doors and windows were closed, the smell was unbearable and we felt trapped and unsafe. I would NOT recommend staying in this property at all. Anything positive about the property is negated by the black mould and smell of the property.

Everything. From the second we booked, we had an immediate message from Ana, and she was always available for when I had questions. As we got closer to our arrival date, Ana checked in to see if we needed anything and re-iterated all the amenities that she could provide, including pick up at the airport, cleaning...even offered to do some grocery shopping to ensure we had what we needed when we arrived. Ana provide us with a list of restaurants, grocery stores and other important information we would require. Upon arrival, Ana met us at the property, gave us a tour of the property and was very accommodating of our needs. The property itself is, well...PARADISE. My wife and I hadn't told anyone about it, so it was a total surprise to everyone when we pulled into the driveway. The look on their faces was worth a million bucks. The villa truly has everything. We had zero issues with the TV, Internet, bedrooms, toilets, kitchen...everything was perfect. The kids enjoyed the big back yard, sitting in the screened sunroom or having a snack under the gazebo in the back yard. There is laundry facilities with a clothesline in the back yard. From a location perspective, I think it took us 20 minutes to get from the airport. The villa is centrally located on the north side of the island, it's about 45 minutes or so to both the east & west sides of the Island. Ribeira Grande is also just under 20 minutes away, and you can get whatever you need there...or down in Ponta Delgada, which is also just 20 minutes away. There's a golf course a little more than 5 minutes away...honestly, this is PARADISE.

The location is fantastic—just 15 minutes from the airport and right in the center of the island, making it easy to reach all the interesting places. There are good grocery stores nearby, you can easily get down to the ocean, and there’s a beautiful church. It really gives the holiday an interesting and authentic small-town feel.

We loved the salt water pool and the view from the pool the most. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious. Fresh ingredients, welcoming atmosphere and wonderful hosts. We truly loved our experience here from beginning to end. No complaints!

Just to see Ponta Delgada, 2-3 days is enough. It is within an hour to most places on the island. Christmastime is a great time to be there. Not too hot, not too cold and less busy than in the high season.

The location was great, close to the beach and restaurants. Having a private car park was ideal as we were always assured of a safe parking spot no matter what time we came home. Ryan was very quick to respond to all of our questions and very helpful. We would recommend having the guest info book easily accessible to guests.
