Staff friendly and helpfull. Looked like they had some bikes for use, but we didn't use them. Might come in handy since the city is a bit far from the hotel.

Though we have stayed only 1 night for transit to Alishan, it was surprisingly a great hotel as i did not expect much. We arrived late at 11pm and the hotel receptionist is able to identify us quickly and give us all the details for breakfast and check in process was speedy and we are able to rest early. The breakfast comes with wide spread, lots of choices and selections. The room are large and spacious! Overall, it did exceed my expectation for the price paid for 1 night.

Hostess was so friendly and hospitable. I really enjoyed chatting with her and appreciated the suggestions she made for sightseeing around town. The room was very clean, had its own private bathroom and air conditioner. Breakfast was awesome and saved me a lot of time and effort in the morning. The location is easily accessible by bicycle and has laundry facilities on-site if you ask. It's right on the edge of town, nestled among farm fields but a stone throw away from restaurants and shops. Night markets and retail shops are within walking distance as well.

Despite it was extremely busy during the check in but all staff were super friendly and informative. The lobby “manger” in black suit ( I think his name’s Vito) was very helpful and also checking in with me the next day to see if everything was good.
Room was spotless clean and mattress and pillows were also quite firm so we had a great sleep.

Nice enough city.
Nice enough city. Japanese Area, Hinoki Village has lovely old buildings and heaps of craft shops - some stunningly beautiful wooden and Jade items for sale as well as food, drinks and ice-cream. The markets were quite good. Try the turkey rice! City is great for access to Alishan. I only stayed one night and felt it was enough but my focus was on Alishan.

First of all, the food was great!
First of all, the food was great! And the attractions were superb. The one I love the most is the Art musem, it's not your typical museum but rather an interactive kind. They have amazing guides throughout the weekends! Would definitely visit again for a longer stay.

Not very many speaks English but it’s good to experience the country side of Taiwan.
It was too difficult to understand the transportation system as there was nothing in English. Booking public transportation to Alishan was a nightmare but a lovely lady who works in the station helped us to get the tickets from the Family Mart vending machine.
There are plenty of options to eat and there is plenty of value for money options than Taipei City. It’s pretty clean but noticed loads of homeless citizens. The city is improving and I think it is worth visiting it and probably people will because of Alishan National Park.
