The property was far better than online reviews had stated. Location central and in a location not as bad as reviewed. Staff all nice. It is a budget accommodation and provides for budget travellers.

Perfect location. Close to shopping and restaurants. Old but renovated. Clean with very comfortable bed. Drive up was very convenient for our 2 little dogs. Great staff!

This hotel was rated 2 stars. That review is harsh. My room was as a hotel room normally is. It was clean ,comfy, and priced right. I was traveling and not there to hang out. I booked the room and checked in, as I went through the door my flight was cancelled and I had to leave. 5 min in the room. I called and informed them I couldn't Stay. Was told I had to see a manager. After repeated calls and being told I had to see a manager, I thought my money was gone. I needed a place 3 weeks later again and I called. I was quickly given a free room. And the folks were very nice about it.
The worst part of the whole thing is check in, itis done through a window. You have to stand outside with out shade or cover. I will use these guys again. And I now know who ever answers the phone is the manager.

I did not spend much time in El Centro, just passing through...
I did not spend much time in El Centro, just passing through. Unfortunately the night that I spent in Crown Hotel, was the highlight of the trip. A simple amenity as Wi Fi was not available. I was unable to do my work, therefore I am asking for a refund.

Brawley is definitely not a vacation spot!
Brawley is definitely not a vacation spot! Some friends of mine who lived and worked here for years called it the "armpit of America". Sometimes in the summer, because of the surrounding agriculture and its chemicals, it smells like it. It's way too hot to enjoy in the summer. If you stay awhile, the winter is your best bet. They have an excellent selection of fast food restaurants to choose from and a few decent regular restaurants. The shopping is lackluster. The entertainment is non-existent. It's a good stopover for a trip to Yuma, AZ (an hour away, with much cheaper gasoline than California) or a day trip across the border to Mexico for medical, dental (you're smart if you do) or tourism.

I Use to stay here for business.
I Use to stay here for business. Never had much of a problem with El Centro.But this time I was there it has really gone downhill.
Even tho its a border town I never felt unsafe or that it was seedy but that's changed. Stay in Yuma 50 miles east or drive the 100 miles west to San Diego

Stay at the Ocatillo Inn for the best room for the price. There's a great park within walking distance! Also they have great local Chinese restaurants in this town. Ate one night at Panera and went home hungry. One dish at the Chinese restaurant was great and there were leftovers. Getting around the town is easy. Streets are well laid out. Like any town there are better parts. We found the Ocatillor Inn to be in a safer neighborhood with easy access to a park with rolling hills, paved walkways and a lake. Around the "classic inn" we risked our lives to walk our dog and found the hotel to be as run down as the neighborhood, and I really don't demand much.
